The Caregiver

                                                                           (my caregiver, Jim)
Last night Joey was laying in bed cuddling with me.  We started talking about the prayer he says for me. He told me he wasn't very good at praying, he said he says the same thing every time.  This is Joey's prayer, "Dear Lord, thank you for this day.  Please help my Mom heal and the doctors take care of her.  Thank you for dying on the cross.  Amen."  He brought tears to my eyes.  I started feeling guilty about some of the things I won't be able to do for my children this year.  Meeting them for lunch at school is something I have taken for granted and now I won't be able to go for a while.

I was trying to explain to Jim how I feel.  I told him I feel like a disappointment -- he is always having to take care of me now.  That's supposed to be my job.  Now Jim is the caregiver, even Jakob, Kelli and Joey are the caregivers.  Jim told me not to feel like a disappointment -- that he likes taking care of me.  Guess what our devotion was entitled last night, "In Sickness and in Health".  God's timing is so perfect, ALWAYS!

Here is a Bible verse from last night's devotion, the Amplified translation:
Ephesians 5:33 However, let each man of you [without exception] love his wife as [being in a sense] his very own self; and let the wife see that she respects and reverences her husband [that she notices him, regards him, honors him, prefers him, venerates, and esteems him; and that she defers to him, praises him, and loves and admires him exceedingly]

Please remember that every day we have together is a blessing and should be lived joyfully!

I love you!

Love & Blessings from the top of my heart,

Moni
